Explore the Diverse Voices of Banshees Bar & Artspace, a Hub of Inclusivity and Artistic Expression in the Heart of the Community.
Banshees Bar & Artspace was founded in May 2018 by local legends Nina and Ken Weaver, who built a culture of inclusivity, care and creative energy into what was a long, empty white room. The building itself has a huge amount of history, having been a chemist, a Woolworths, an internet cafe, a dress shop and also on fire! In 2022, Al Wheeler and Tim Glorious took on the Banshees legacy, and have continued its traditions of booking high quality performers from a huge variety of genres every weekend, and showcasing Ipswich musicians and performers at every possible opportunity.
Banshees acknowledges that we are working and creating on stolen land, and want to acknowledge the Jagera, Yuggera and Uguruapul people on whose land we stand.
We are an inclusive and safe space, welcoming people of colour, everyone in the LGBTIQ+ family and encouraging people living with disability to reach out and see how we can make you comfortable in our space.
If at any time you feel unsafe, please talk to our bar staff and we will do what we can to help.
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Ipswich, Banshees Bar & Artspace enjoys a prime position at 131 Brisbane Street. We inhabit the pulsating center of the city's diverse cultural tapestry.
A Stone's Throw from Nicholas Street Precinct
