Sunday 8th December 2024 | Doors 7PM | 7:30PM Start
This is the THIRD and FINAL showing of the Tragic Tale of Dr Faustus for 2024! The previous two shows sold out in record time, don't miss out!
Doors are at 7pm the show starts at 7:30!
Bud Beckett has been dreaming of the Tragic Tale of Dr Faustus since he first picked up a guitar, and he has gathered the best of the weirdest of our local punk and metal musicians to create Sepulchre Serenade, who are bringing his vision to life!
Step into the dark, immersive world of gothic metal opera as Sepulchre Serenade brings a bold new adaptation of the classic medieval tale to life with "The Tragic Tale of Dr Faustus."
The Tragic Tale of Dr Faustus brings a fresh and sinister twist to the legendary medieval story of the man who sells his soul to the enigmatic Mephistopheles, set against the chilling backdrop of the witch hunts. This gothic reimagining features a creepy set design, enhanced by mesmerising special effects that transport the audience into Faustus’ haunting world.
The show weaves together Dark Folk, Classical music, and the powerful forces of Black, Doom, and Thrash Metal, set to the timeless words of literary giants like William Blake, William Shakespeare, Hilaire Belloc, and Andrew Marvell, stitching together pieces of long-dead poets like a Mary Shelley patchwork, to create a new body of work.
A Frankenstein with the heart and soul of Classical music and poetry.
The guts, muscle and balls of Heavy Metal.
The blood, nervous system and skin of a Horror film.
And the timeless struggle of materialism versus spirituality as the face of this unnatural creature.
The Tragic Tale of Dr Faustus is not quite opera, not quite metal concert, not quite musical theatre, not quite horror cabaret yet little of all of the above.
Expect an experience filled with blood, death, and darkness. This is no ordinary show—it is an unholy fusion of art forms that pushes the boundaries of gothic performance.
Online ticket sales have concluded, but there are usually tickets available at the venue. Come say hi and check out the bands.
