The Melancholics Later, Sunshine EP Launch and Final Ipswich Show

After nearly six years together, The Melancholics are calling it quits at the end of the year. Well, probably. Let’s call it a long hiatus and leave the door cracked open for that inevitable reunion gig.

But we’re not disappearing quietly.

We’re playing two very special farewell shows, revisiting the amazing venues where it all began and bringing along some of the wonderful bands we’ve shared stages with over the years.

First up is Banshee’s Bar & Artspace, Ipswich, where we’ll also be launching our new EP, Later, Sunshine.

The line up:

These Idle Hands – purveyors of somewhat moody Alternative Folk music.

Doubting Thomas – catchy, pop-tinged indie rock with the guitars turned all the way up.

The Melancholics – Brisbane indie rock, alt country, new songs, old songs, and possibly a few feelings.

Lives change, paths diverge and new projects beckon, but we’re enormously grateful for the music we’ve made, the adventures we’ve had and the friendships that have come from almost six years of being this band.

So please join us at Banshee’s for our second to last very special night of indie rock and alt country and help us give The Melancholics the send-off they deserve.
